Walker was approached by Arsenal’s set-piece coach Nicolas Jover, a former City employee, after the final whistle on Sunday following the Gunners’ 1-0 triumph, and he extended an invitation to shake hands.

Kyle Walker was involved in a heated confrontation with Arsenal set-piece coach Nicolas Jover

Because Jover, 41, had REFUSED to shake hands with his old friends at Man City following BOTH of the team’s Premier League games against Arsenal last season, the City captain reacted angrily.

As the sides exited the field at the conclusion of Sunday’s fairly forgettable match, Walker confronted Jover close to the tunnel.

Then, in order to keep the two apart, star striker Erling Haaland waded in, and soon after, additional players and backroom staff joined in.

The England star’s dissatisfaction with the Gunners set-piece coach has now been made clear by Etihad insiders.

City had a significant lead in the battle for the title last season after winning their two matches against the Gunners in February and April.

Nevertheless, Jover, who worked for the Etihad for two years under Pep Guardiola, stood with his hands behind his back after those games.

At the time, he was quite eager to shake hands with Arsenal supporters but made it plain that he would not be shaking hands with any City players.

Walker informed friends in the locker room that this was the cause of his outburst because he thought it was inappropriate.

He departed from Man City amicably in December 2021, with well wishes from his previous employers.

Thus, Etihad authorities were taken aback by his response at the conclusion of the two games played in the previous season.

In the meanwhile, the FA has stated that they will not be prosecuting Walker, Haaland, or Jover for the event.

After watching the video on Monday, they concluded there was no need to proceed further.

Head of the Gunners Mikel Arteta claimed he “didn’t see” what started the altercation.

However, Guardiola, the head of City, insisted he knew why there had been a fight, but he wouldn’t go into detail.

Guardiola remarked, “I know what happened, but I don’t want to say anything.” “They [Arsenal] know it.”

Gabriel Martinelli, a substitute, deflected a goal in the 84th minute, and Arsenal won 1-0.
