Antony left police station after 5-hour questioning

The 23-year-old Brazilian football sensation, Antony, voluntarily appeared at a Manchester police station to address allegations made by his former partner, Gabriela Cavallin. Antony, hailing from Sao Paolo, Brazil, arrived at Manchester Airport on Monday evening (UK time) and took the proactive step of contacting Greater Manchester police to facilitate their inquiry.

Throughout the lengthy questioning, Antony remained steadfast in his denial of any wrongdoing in relation to the accusations put forth by Gabriela Cavallin. These accusations include alleged physical altercations that left her with a broken finger and a head injury. The Times (UK) reported that Antony even expressed his willingness to provide his cell phone to assist the police in their investigation.

The footballer was observed leaving his residence in Hale Barns shortly before 4 pm yesterday afternoon (September 28, UK time). Antony’s current girlfriend, Rosilene Silva, also left the residence just before Antony’s departure. This residence is a former mansion of the former Manchester United player, Paul Pogba. Antony was later seen leaving the police station at around 9 pm (UK time).

Notably, Antony voluntarily visited a police station in Brazil to provide a statement back in June. Importantly, Antony is now free to depart Sao Paulo, Brazil, and return to Manchester, England, indicating that, as of this point, Antony remains uncharged.

Gabriela Cavallin, a 22-year-old model and DJ, has accused Antony, Manchester United’s £85 million winger, of multiple assaults that allegedly occurred during their previous relationship. These accusations include headbutting and punching Gabriela at a Manchester hotel on January 15. In May, Gabriela also claims Antony threw a glass at her, resulting in an injury to her finger. Two other women have come forward, accusing Antony of assaulting them as well.

In early September, the Brazilian national team removed Antony from the 2026 World Cup qualifying round, despite Antony’s initial inclusion in the squad after returning to Brazil. On September 10, Manchester United issued a statement permitting Antony’s absence while he addresses the allegations against him. The club continues to pay Antony’s full weekly salary of £150,000.

Antony presently remains on leave and has not resumed training with Manchester United. A source disclosed to Sun Sports (UK): “Antony is unwavering in his assertion of innocence and is eager to cooperate with the police’s inquiries. He is prepared to provide any necessary information, including access to his cell phone. His goal is to promptly clear his name so that he can continue his football career without distractions.”

In an exclusive interview with Sun Sports on Sunday, Gabriela Cavallin urged Manchester United to remove Antony from the squad. Conversely, Antony vehemently refuted the allegations and pledged to take every possible step to restore his reputation.
