Alejandro Garnacho’s goal in Manchester United’s 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace earned him praise, but also a warning from coach Erik ten Hag. Dimitar Berbatov, the former MU striker, has voiced his support for Ten Hag’s decision.
After underwhelming performances in matches against Wolves and Tottenham, Garnacho’s playing time had been limited. He spent the Burnley match on the bench without taking the field. However, he made a significant impact in the English League Cup’s third-round match against Crystal Palace by scoring a goal in the 3-0 win.
Despite his goal, coach Erik ten Hag issued a caution to Alejandro Garnacho. Ten Hag stated, “At the beginning of the season, his contribution was not good enough. Garnacho is always a threat in the match, even when he’s not playing well. On defense, Garnacho also made an impact. He will always be determined, because of his great qualities, but at his age, learning must always come first. We have to demand a lot of Garnacho and push him. He can reach a very high level, but he needs to show it every day.”
Dimitar Berbatov, a former Manchester United striker, has expressed his agreement with Coach Ten Hag’s comments regarding Garnacho. Berbatov stated, “It’s great to see Alejandro Garnacho score, and everyone wants him to play regularly, but he needs to work hard to earn that privilege. I believe Ten Hag has high expectations for Sancho, and he knows when the right time is for him to play.”
“Ten Hag is making the right decisions with Garnacho. He wants to remind his pupil that hard work is necessary to earn a spot on the field. When the opportunity arises, one must seize it. Regular playing time is only possible if a player consistently delivers strong performances.”
