Tom Cleverley, a former United player, has expressed interest in managing the team. The 34-year-old, who last played for Watford in the Championship, declared his retirement from the sport in July.

I believe that my playing experience has prepared me for a career as a coach, and I also believe that I have the work ethic necessary to succeed in this role. Who knows how far I’ll go. I may be working hard, but I’m having a great time doing it.
