Onana, Salah, and many United stars will be absent from the EPL to attend CAN 2023

The 2023 African Cup of Nations taking place in January 2024 will force European clubs, especially the Premier League, to release key players for the national team.

In order to avoid scheduling conflicts with national championships in Europe, the 2023 African Nations Championship (CAN 2023) was initially scheduled for June and July. However, due to concerns about severe weather in Ivory Coast, the tournament was postponed. CAN 2023 will officially take place from January 13 – February 11, 2024.

This schedule makes Premier League clubs very unhappy. Over the years, they have always had to bear the risk of losing key African players right at an important stage.

Mohamed Salah (Egypt)

Salah may be absent in the matches against Bournemouth, Chelsea and Arsenal if the Egyptian team plays well in CAN 2023. However, this could become a problem for Al-Ittihad, as the team belongs to the Saudi Pro League. are determined to sign a contract with this striker for a world record transfer fee.

Andre Onana (Cameroon)

After an argument with Cameroon coach Rigobert Song over his playing style, which caused him to leave the World Cup early, Onana returned to the national team in September. He helped Cameroon win tickets to attend AFCON 2023. Altay Bayindir – Turkish goalkeeper can replace his position in the Manchester United shirt early next year.

Hannibal Mejbri (Tunisia)

Mejbri’s continued stay at Old Trafford this season has surprised many people. Manchester United’s problems in attack created an opportunity for Mejbri to play. He also somewhat showed himself with a goal in Man Utd’s 1-3 loss to Brighton in round 5.

Amad Diallo (Ivory Coast)

With Manchester United starting the 2023-24 season with a disappointing attack, Amad is getting the chance to play more regularly as he recovers from injury. He has also had 4 caps for the Ivory Coast national team since his debut in 2021.
