All indications point to Mason Mount returning to first-team play ahead of two games against Crystal Palace this week, giving Erik ten Hag a rare injury-related win.
Mason Mount, a summer acquisition by Manchester United, practiced with the club in preparation for Tuesday’s match against Crystal Palace and now seems to be close to making his comeback to the first team.

The England international moved from Chelsea to Old Trafford in July for an initial sum of £55 million, but he has missed a large portion of his Red Devils career thus far due to injuries. Since the second league match of the year, a 2-0 loss at Tottenham, Mount has not taken the field for Erik ten Hag’s team.
.
Having said that, Mount’s return might finally be here as the 24-year-old was spotted working out as United prepared for two games against the Eagles in as many days. The first game is in the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford, and Roy Hodgson’s team will travel there a second time on Saturday for the league match.
As he was put through his paces alongside the other members of his United team, Mount appeared to be in good spirits and was grinning. Ten Hag has had to cope with a number of Red Devils players being out recently in addition to the former Blues favorite.

Harry Maguire, a fellow England international, has missed the last two games due to an injury he has been dealing with. When it comes to injuries, United’s defense has been the most severely affected, with all four of Ten Hag’s starting back four missing time this season.
Raphael Varane has since recovered from the injury that held him out of games against Arsenal and Brighton, while Lisandro Martinez is the most recent to notice a problem. The Frenchman was introduced during the last minutes of Saturday’s game at Turf Moor.
Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw are still out. Even the emergency backup Sergio Reguilon has recently battled a sickness, but fortunately for Ten Hag, the Spaniard overcame it to play against Burnley and will be fit for Crystal Palace’s visit.
Ten Hag may make changes on Tuesday night even though United will surely be looking to defend the League Cup this season. This is because the Red Devils have more important matters to attend to.
Altay Bayindir, a young goalkeeper who joined from Fenerbahce this summer to replace Dean Henderson, might make his debut. Andre Onana, the team’s first-choice shot-stopper, has not yet sat on the bench this season.
The opportunity to rest Casemiro, the starting midfielder, is presented by the game. Hannibal Mejbri, who was making just his second Premier League debut on Saturday night, may play after making a strong impression.
It’s unclear if Mount will be fit to participate in both games against the South Londoners, but he’ll be eager to return to the field in front of the Old Trafford fans and begin to demonstrate why United was so eager to buy him.
