An 8-6 victory over the Angels gave the Twins the AL Central crown

With their 8-6 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Friday, the Minnesota Twins clinched first place in the American League Central.

 

 

 

The Twins, led by manager Rocco Baldelli, won their third division title in five seasons thanks in large part to Alex Kirilloff’s home run and three RBI.For the Twins, Pablo López went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits and seven strikeouts (bringing his record to 11-8). Jhoan Duran allowed a run in the ninth inning but recorded the last out of the game to earn his 27th save of the year.
