Erik ten Hag hints at possible return of four Man Utd stars against Burnley

Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, has provided a glimmer of hope for the club’s fans by suggesting that four key players could make their comebacks in the upcoming Premier League clash against Burnley.

The Red Devils have endured a challenging start to the season, including a recent three-game losing streak and a 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Ahead of their fixture against struggling Burnley, Ten Hag has shared an update on the fitness of four vital first-team players.

Harry Maguire was sidelined due to a minor injury in the last game, while Mason Mount, Raphael Varane, and Sofyan Amrabat were absent due to fitness concerns.

All four of these players are set to participate in the afternoon training session, and Ten Hag has indicated that their availability for the upcoming match will be determined following this final preparation.

He stated in an interview with Manutd.com: “Maybe, as you say, Harry Maguire. We will see better after training [on Friday afternoon]. But Varane will train and we will see. Amrabat, he will train and we will see. Mount, as well, but they all didn’t play for a short or longer term. Varane, obviously, was the shortest [time] out.”

With only six points from their first five Premier League matches, Manchester United’s league campaign has been less than stellar. They currently trail the final Champions League qualification spot by seven points.

The upcoming match against Burnley represents an opportunity for the team to narrow the gap on the top four, particularly as Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are set to face each other.

In contrast, Burnley has experienced a difficult return to the Premier League, conceding 12 goals in just four matches.

Manchester United must adopt an attacking approach to exploit Burnley’s vulnerable defense, and anything less than a victory would be considered a disappointing result.
