Despite Manchester United’s loss to Bayern Munich, MU fans found solace in Rasmus Hojlund’s enthusiastic reaction to the Champions League anthem played before the match.

 

Both Manchester United and Bayern Munich players lined up on the pitch as the iconic Champions League anthem echoed through the Allianz Arena. Rasmus Hojlund, who was making his third appearance for Man Utd, appeared to thoroughly enjoy the moment.

As the camera scanned across the players, the Danish striker was spotted smiling and taking in the atmosphere.

Fans shared their appreciation, with one stating, “Hojlund loves it.”

Another fan added, “It’s a joy to watch him. So enthusiastic and full of energy.”

A third person commented, “Regardless of whether Hojlund shines on the pitch or not, his attitude is commendable. It warms the heart.”

 

Despite Hojlund’s initial delight, this wasn’t the £72 million player’s debut in the Champions League. He had two appearances for Sturm Graz in the qualifiers last year before joining Atalanta. The 20-year-old striker also had experience in European football in the Conference League with Copenhagen.

Ultimately, Hojlund’s smile faded as Bayern Munich took a 2-0 lead at halftime. Leroy Sane opened the scoring following a mistake by goalkeeper Andre Onana, and Serge Gnabry extended Bayern’s lead.

 

Hojlund did manage to provide some excitement by scoring his first goal for Manchester United, narrowing the score to 1-2.

However, Harry Kane converted a penalty to make it 3-1. Casemiro scored a remarkable brace, and Mathys Tel sealed the victory for Bayern as they won 4-3 on aggregate.
