Dani Carvajal is out for Wednesday’s game with a knock. Along with Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao, Arda Guler, and Vinicius Jr., the veteran Spanish full-back is out. Los Blancos should only miss Carvajal temporarily.

Coach Ancelotti addressed Carvajal’s injury in his pre-game press conference. He confirmed his replacement and said the Spaniard had a strain. The Italian strategist updated Guler’s knee injury recovery.

He remarked, “Carvajal has a strain and we wanted to rest him to avoid problems. He’ll be tested again tomorrow. He feels fine and we don’t think it’s serious, so maybe he’ll return soon. He could play on Sunday as things stand.”

“Player is in good shape. Carvajal will be replaced by Lucas Vázquez. He’s recovering fine, no issues. He’s finishing his work and will rejoin the club on Monday.”

With Carvajal out, Lucas Vazquez will play right-back. The rest of the defense will remain same. Fran Garcia will play left-back as Ferland Mendy returns, with Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba forming the central defense. The quartet must safeguard Kepa Arrizabalaga.

In the midfield, Ancelotti has rotated players and started to phase out Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, and Jude Bellingham should start, with the seasoned duo on the bench.

Dani Ceballos will miss out and join Brahim Diaz on the bench. In the absence of Vinicius Junior, Joselu and Rodrygo Goes will lead Real Madrid’s with Bellingham behind them.

Real Madrid predicted XI: Kepa; Lucas Vazquez, Rudiger, Alaba, Fran Garcia; Valverde, Tchouameni, Camavinga; Bellingham; Joselu, Rodrygo.
