Manchester United signed Rasmus Hojlund instead of Harry Kane, but Erik ten Hag said the club has no misgivings about the decision

United considered making a deal for Kane at the beginning of the summer, but ultimately decided against it because of the high price tag of acquiring the services of the England captain from Tottenham.

Bayern agreed to pay Spurs £100 million for Kane, while United paid Atalanta £72 million for Hojlund.

While Kane has wasted no time getting off the ground at Bayern Munich, scoring four goals in his first four Bundesliga games, Hojlund is being carefully nursed back to full health after arriving at Old Trafford with a back issue.

Ten Hag, however, is confident that United made the right choice during the transfer window.

I don’t think it’s necessary to have this discussion again. When asked if United felt cheated out of Kane, Ten Hag said no.

We are pleased with Rasmus, despite his early season ιnjury.

Now that he’s had a start against Arsenal, we need to work on incorporating him into the team.

But it’s clear he’s a major talent who’ll add something to our play. We’re very sure of that, actually.

Meanwhile, Kane is’really thrilled’ with his summer transfer to Bayern.

‘Obviously, over the summer I know there were some negotiations between a few clubs in the background, but Bayern were a team I was really fascinated and thrilled by,’ the England captain said before Bayern’s Champions League match against United on Wednesday night.

After their arrival, there were not many more conversations. They negotiated with Tottenham and reached an agreement.

I’m going to concentrate on this for the time being. Manchester United is a fantastic team and a massive organization. I’m glad I made the effort to get here today.
