According to reports, one LaLiga team is preparing a move to bring free agent David de Gea back to Spain.
After failing to reach an agreement on new terms with Manchester United at the end of June, De Gea has been without a club since then.
De Gea has been linked with major transfers to Real Madrid and Bayern Munich since leaving United, where he spent the first 12 years of his career.
Those plans fell through, but now De Gea allegedly gets another shot at playing first-team football in Spain.
That’s because, as reported by Fichajes, Real Betis is preparing a move to sign the 32-year-old.
According to the source, Valencia is also contemplating making an offer for the former United superstar, who has been practicing on his own since leaving the club.
Fichajes also claims that De Gea is considering an offer to play in his native Spain’s top division.
The Spanish goalkeeper had a phenomenal 2022–2023 season for the Red Devils, and he was rewarded with the Premier League’s Golden Glove award.
Despite De Gea’s impressive 17 clean sheets in English Premier League play, the club did not choose to prolong his contract for an additional year.
Andre Onana, who joined United from Inter Milan after De Gea’s departure, is now the team’s starting goalkeeper.
