Fans of Manchester United gave up hope when Aaron Wan-Bissaka played for only five minutes before being sidelined for two months

AARON WAN-BISSAKA is set to be out of action for up to two months after suffering a hamstring injury against Brighton.

The defender came on in the 85th minute of Manchester United’s 3-1 defeat to the Seagulls.

However, during his five-minute cameo, the 25-year-old sustained a hamstring injury which is now set to make him the latest player unavailable to Erik ten Hag.

Wan-Bissaka had started the Brighton match on the bench as he battled with illness.

He had started every game prior to the international break.

An official club statement said initial indications ahead of a full assessment suggested Wan-Bissaka would be out for “several weeks”.

Wan-Bissaka being sidelined adds to an already extensive list of stars who are unavailable to Ten Hag through either injury, disciplinary issues or other factors.

And United fans were understandably upset with the latest development.

Reacting on Twitter, one fan wrote: “Just end the season.”

A second said: “When it rains it pours.”

“At this rate all our players will be out by December including the manager,” remarked a third.

A fourth said: “Everyday we wake up to bad news at this club.”

A fifth typed: “We’re finished.”

While another added: “Close down the club.”

Wan-Bissaka being sidelined means three of United’s first-choice back four will be in the medical room – with Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane having missed a large portion of the season already.

Jadon Sancho and Antony are both out of the team until further notice, leaving United without Mason Mount, Sofyan Amrabat, and Kobbie Mainoo in the middle of the field.

With a much thinner defense than normal, United will need to contain Harry Kane and company when they play Bayern Munich in the middle of the week.

However, in what appears to be a rare bonus for the Red Devils at the moment, Ten Hag has suggested that some of his players could make a comeback for next week’s Premier League match against Burnley.

The Dutchman added that one unnamed star might be in the mix to play for the team against Bayern on Wednesday.
