Coach Javier Mascherano of Argentina’s U-20 team says he is “grateful.” Alejandro Garnacho preferred them to Spain

Alejandro Garnacho chose to represent Argentina over Spain, and the manager of that squad, Javier Mascherano, has expressed his gratitude to both Manchester United and Alejandro Garnacho for that.

Garnacho’s national allegiance was still up in the air, according to a report carried by The Peoples Person during the international break, and he needed to play for Argentina versus Bolivia to commit himself to the World Cup champions for good.

Due to his parents’ dual citizenship, Garnacho was able to play for Spain.

The young United player was courted by Spain, but he made it obvious that he was only interested in committing to the Albiceleste.

The 19-year-old was given playing time against Bolivia by Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni, and as a result, he is no longer qualified to represent La Roja.

When Mascherano gave the winger his U20s debut, he offered Garnacho a taste of the Argentina national team.

Before being promoted to the first team and getting to play with superstars like Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria, and others, the player made a total of four appearances.

“Garnacho’s discovery is Garnacho’s,” Mascherano said to TyC Sports via SportWitness, “and his decision to want to play for Argentina.”

The truth, and he is aware of it, is that none of this would have taken place if he had refused to participate.

Mascherano continued, “We are appreciative. We are pleased that the anticipated players can participate in the top league.

“It is one’s duty to follow many males, both those born in Argentina and those who were not. We now have the opportunity to witness different players because of how the globe has changed.

On Saturday, during United’s 3-1 loss to Brighton, Garnacho entered the game as a substitute.

He will be aiming to get the start against Bayern Munich on Wednesday when the Red Devils take on the Bundesliga giants in the Champions League due to the absence of several important attacking players.
