James Maddison, a midfielder for Tottenham, has been named the Premier League’s August Player of the Month.
Since joining Tottenham this summer from Leicester, Maddison has been a big contributor for the English national team.
Ange Postecoglou, new head coach of Tottenham, has been recognized for his outstanding first month on the job by being selected Premier League manager of the month.
In Tottenham’s opening game against Brentford, a 2-2 tie, Maddison assisted on both goals. After that, he participated in and scored in a 2-0 win against Manchester United and another 2-0 win over Bournemouth.
A goal in a 5-2 September win against Burnley continued his strong play. When Maddison won the accolade, he became the first Spurs player to do so since Harry Kane in March 2022.
Maddison beаt out Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi, West Ham’s Jarod Bowen, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma, and Manchester City’s Rodri for the accolade.
When Tottenham plays home to Sheffield United on Saturday, Maddison will be looking to make a good impression once again.
Maddison had already accumulated a wealth of Premier League experience throughout his five seasons with Leicester before to his transfer to Tottenham.
Postecoglou’s team has won ten of their first twelve Premier League games under his leadership, earning him manager of the month honors.
Other candidates included Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, and West Ham’s David Moyes.
Postecoglou, formerly of Celtic, has been named the best new manager in English football after just one month on the job.
