Most of Liverpool’s stars returned to Merseyside after nearly two weeks away due to the international break in order to prepare for Saturday’s Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Reds’ South American players didn’t take part in the current session at the AXA Training Centre, but there was still a lot to learn from their recent international duty.
Four things that the ECHO picked up on are as follows.
It appears that Ibrahima Konate will play against Wolves despite his ailment.
When Liverpool plays Wolves this weekend, Ibrahima Konate is expected to return from ιnjury.
A hamstring ιnjury suffered by the 24-year-old defender prompted him to pull out of France’s squad for their games against Ireland and Germany, and he consequently missed the Reds’ final two Premier League games before the international break.
On Thursday, though, Konate made progress in his recovery as he was spotted training at the AXA Training Centre among the rest of the Reds’ first squad. With captain Virgil van Dijk still banned by the FA, it would be a great boost for Jurgen Klopp if he could be ruled fit for the trip to the West Midlands.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has made consistent strides toward recuperation.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was spotted practicing with his boots on at Liverpool’s Kikrby facility in the afternoon, which might be a good sign for the team.
A minor hamstring ιnjury forced Alexander-Arnold from the field in the second half of the Reds’ 3-0 win over Aston Villa two weeks ago. The right defender, who is only 24, pulled out of England’s team for their upcoming matches against Ukrаine and Scotland.
According to Klopp, Alexander-Arnold didn’t think his ιnjury was “too serious” following the September 3 game at Anfield and will be getting a scan in the coming days.
Although it appears that the defender did not participate in Thursday’s squad training, his mere presence outside the gym is good news for Liverpool as they prepare for a heavy September schedule.

As time goes on, Ryan Gravenberch gets used to his new home.
Also on Thursday, new Liverpool signing Ryan Gravenberch was spotted in training with his former Bayern Munich teammates.
The 21-year-old midfielder turned down a callup to the Netherlands’ under-21s side in order to get settled in at Anfield before the Premier League’s return this weekend.
This weekend against Molineux, he might make his Premier League debut.
The wait for Thiago Alcantara goes on.
Finally, Thiago Alcantara was not present at Thursday’s team workout despite Klopp’s assurances that the Spaniard will be ready to return to duty following the international break.
Klopp had hoped that the international break in September would be “enough” to get the 32-year-old midfielder up to speed after he had not featured for Liverpool since April’s triumph at West Ham United due to a long-standing hip ailment.
Klopp said on September 1st, “Thiago had a slight setback. He recently began training with the squad but experienced a minor setback, so progress in that area will be gradual for the time being.
Neither of us like it, and neither does him, but that’s the way it is. Thiago will use the international break in September to catch up on his training. It ought to be sufficient, I hope.
