A get-out option in BERNARDO Silva’s new deal with Manchester City apparently enables him to sign with Barcelona in the summer.
This summer, the Portuguese genius signed an extension to remain at the Etihad until 2026.
Bernardo Silva’s new contract contains a clause for a potential Barcelona move
Silva’s new contract has resulted in a hefty wage increase.
But if rumors are to be accepted, it does not imply that he will be fully committed to City in the near future.
Silva has reportedly been interested in joining Barcelona for the past two years, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Their financial difficulties have prevented a move because City values them at £86 million.
However, after Silva insisted on a £50 million release clause in his new contract, a trade may eventually be completed next summer.
Given that Paris Saint-Germain and numerous Saudi teams have been closely linked this year, it’s unclear whether the cheap price only applies to Barcelona or to all interested teams.
Silva, though, is reportedly focused on heading to Catalonia next summer and has his sights set on the Nou Camp.
He is not the only player to reach a comparable arrangement with his club when Barcelona expressed interest in him.
Dani Olmo, a player for Spain, also signed a new deal with RB Leipzig.
He was a standout in the Barca academy once, and despite ties to City last month, it has long been predicted that he will return home.
Olmo’s contract reportedly includes a £52 million release clause that Barcelona will reportedly activate in 2024.
Last season, Xavi Hernandez led his team to the La Liga championship.
However, by the standards of previous years, they experienced a relatively quiet transfer window.
Ilkay Gundogan, a midfielder for Man City, and Inigo Martinez, a defender for Athletic Bilbao, both completed free moves.
Oriol Romeu, an ex-Chelsea anchorman, cost £3 million.
Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix, both of City and Atletico Madrid, were acquired on loan by Barcelona on the final day of the transfer window.
However, they received over £90 million from sales, which gave their finances a massive boost.
