Official! MU recruited the ‘most important’ person at Arsenal

After 15 years working at Arsenal, sports doctor Gary O’Driscoll will join the Old Trafford team.

Last July, information about sports doctor Gary O’Driscoll leaving Arsenal Club after 15 years to join Manchester United appeared. Recently, the Training Ground Guru newspaper confirmed that the “miracle doctor” from the Republic of Ireland has officially debuted as the new Head of Sports Medicine Department of the home team Old Trafford. Dr O’Driscoll will start work from next Monday.

Dr O’Driscoll, born in Manchester, is one of the most experienced and highly regarded medical staff in the sporting world. He is also the cousin of rugby legend Brian O’Driscoll.

Mr. Gary O’Driscoll joined Arsenal as club doctor in 2009 and was promoted to Head of Health eight years later, replacing his friend Colin Lewin. In addition to football, the expert born in 1970 is also proficient in other sports. He served as a doctor for the Republic of Ireland rugby team from 2003 to 2009 and was a member of the emergency support team at the 2012 London Olympics.

At Man United, Dr. O’Driscoll will replace Steve McNally, who left his position in February after 16 years with the Red Devils. Currently, Mr. McNally is working at the British Professional Arbitration Committee (PGMOL).

Dr. McNally joined Man United in 2006 under former coach Sir Alex Ferguson and accompanied many of the club’s successes. He made a great contribution to healing the injuries of Rio Ferdinand and Darren Fletcher.
