Spanish newspaper Sport revealed that Real Madrid will approach Kylian Mbappe in January and is ready to make an offer of up to 200 million pounds for the French striker.
Initially, Real Madrid was said to be willing to spend 172 million pounds to buy Kylian Mbappe but they had no intention of bargaining with PSG. Negotiations with Mbappe have not even begun this summer, even though the 24-year-old striker was fined by PSG and not allowed to train with the first team. After that, Mbappe returned and scored 5 goals in the first 3 matches of the season.
Sport revealed that Real Madrid wants to reach an early agreement with Mbappe in January because they do not want to lose the transfer fee to PSG, in the context that Mbappe’s contract will expire on June 30.
Sport added that Real did not like the way PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi rejected their offer (worth £172 million). Instead, Real will decide to spend about 200 million pounds on Mbappe. This number is calculated directly into the salary and bribery fee for the French player.
Real also paved the way for this deal to take place by not buying more quality strikers since letting Karim Benzema go to Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.
