Man United have signed a £60m annual deal with Snapdragon to have their logo on the front of their shirts

Since German software company TeamViewer declared last year that it will not renew its relationship with United, the Red Devils’ management has been searching for a new front-of-shirt sponsor.

The duration of the contract was extended over its initial 2026 expiry date so that United could terminate the relationship upon finding a new sponsor.

United’s partnership with TeamViewer brought in £47m annually, but the deal they’ve reportedly reached with Qualcomm, who will market their subsidiary brand Snapdragon on the shirts, is worth more than £60m annually.

Manchester United plc has agreed to an expanded strategic cooperation with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., according to a statement released late Tuesday night: “Manchester United plc will proudly display the Snapdragon brand on the front of the club’s famous shirt.”

Snapdragon brand promoter Qualcomm Technologies is already a global partner of Manchester United.

The world’s leading brands use Snapdragon processors in their high-end smartphones, personal computers, augmented reality glasses, video game consoles, wearable electronics, and connected vehicles.

With the new deal, Snapdragon will be featured on the front of all Manchester United shirts for the 2024–25 season, including the home, away, and third.

The exact terms of the arrangement with Qualcomm have not been made public, but it is widely believed to be the largest short-term sponsorship contract in sports.

This season and last, Qualcomm served as United’s “global partner,” advising the club on ways to improve mobile connectivity at Old Trafford. The collaboration between the two parties dates back to August 2022.

United’s preseason match against Wrexham this past summer was played in San Diego’s Snapdragon Stadium, which was also sponsored by the company that will be the club’s seventh jersey sponsor.

United’s shirts will still feature TeamViewer’s logo through the rest of the season, and the firm will remain a “global partner” until the end of United’s current shirt sponsorship agreement in 2026.

While investors criticized TeamViewer for the arrangement, United felt the £47m annual deal made during the cоrоnavirus оutbreak undersold the value of the front-of-shirt sponsorship.
