Liverpool have to pay 46 million per year for Kylian Mbappe deal

Liverpool might have the financial capacity to secure a deal worth £893,000 per week for Kylian Mbappe. Toward the end of the summer transfer market, Sky Sports reported that Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad made a verbal offer worth £150 million.

In response to the bid, Jurgen Klopp commented: “I never had any doubts about his commitment to this club. You can’t imagine how much fuss the world has made but how calm we are with it. He is our player and he wants to play here.” Despite retaining Salah’s services, Liverpool may consider selling him next summer to avoid losing him for free in 2025. If this scenario unfolds, the Reds will need to find a replacement for the talismanic forward.

While Bukayo Saka could be an obvious choice, his strong connection with the Arsenal fans may pose a challenge. Surprisingly, The Athletic has presented an intriguing option if Liverpool decides to sell Salah next summer.

This isn’t the first time such a claim has been made recently. Renowned French outlet L’Equipe previously stated that Real Madrid isn’t the only realistic destination for Mbappe. The 24-year-old is in the final year of his PSG contract and has been widely linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, where Los Blancos are assembling a formidable squad.

The Athletic suggests that the “money generated from the Salah deal could be put towards the mega salary required.” According to Salary Sport, Mbappe earns £893,000 per week, totaling £46 million per year. If Liverpool sells Salah for over £100 million, this could cover approximately two years of Mbappe’s wages.

It should be noted that while Mbappe possesses the ability to match or even surpass Salah’s attacking statistics, his alignment with Klopp’s squad principles remains to be seen.
