Mykhailo Mudryk will likely continue to bring sad news to Chelsea when he was injured in the draw with England.
In the confrontation between Ukraine and England in the EURO 2024 Qualifiers, Mudryk was placed on the left wing and faced off directly with Kyle Walke of the Three Lions. In the match where Ukraine played very well, Mudryk did not make much of an impression when receiving a fierce block from Walker.
Worth mentioning, in many speed races, Mudryk was even completely behind his opponent who was 10 years older than him. In the final minutes of the second half, Mudryk asked to be replaced after being injured. The 22-year-old player held his calf in pain after trying to pass Walker. Previously, in the first half, Mudryk also had to receive medical treatment after a tackle by Marcus Rashford. The Ukrainian player was then able to continue playing, but he was unable to complete the match as he left the field in the final minutes.
Now Chelsea will have to wait for a conclusion from doctors about Mudryk’s injury, while there is already a long sick list including players like Christopher Nkunku, Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Carney Chukwuemeka and Trevoh Chalobah. Chelsea recently warned Mudryk to lose weight and cut back on extra gym sessions to help him quickly get back to his best. Mudryk has made 20 appearances for the London team, he has not scored a goal and has only had 2 assists.
Witnessing Mudryk’s latest injury, Chelsea fans bitterly commented on social media:
– With the money to buy Mudryk, maybe we should use it to pay Kyle Walker’s salary until he’s 40 years old and I believe he’s still faster than that Ukrainian guy.
– Injured when competing for speed with someone 10 years older than him, Mudryk is a real trick. Weak both physically and mentally, I didn’t know what to expect from him.
– Watching Mudryk play, I really think my team is participating in a money laundering ring.
– Brought it back just to run and now lost to Walker, then got injured and returned to London. Great job Mudryk!
