Manchester United central defender Victor Lindelof has been praised after Sweden’s thrashing of Estonia on Saturday night

Several United players have recently been seen on international flights.

Whenever United has a break like this, supporters and Erik ten Hag alike hope and pray that nothing serious happens to either player.

So far, so good for United, but England’s draw against Ukrаine won’t make Marcus Rashford or Harry Maguire very happy.

Other United players, like defender Victor Lindelof, have fared better, though.

Swedish publications have been very complimentary of Victor Lindelof.

On Saturday night, Lindelof got the nod as Sweden dominated Estonia.

Sweden breezed through their Euro 2024 qualifying match with a 5-0 triumph.

Lindelof started and finished all 90 minutes of Sweden’s resounding victory.

The Swedish press was impressed, with Svenska Fans saying that Lindelof was a good captain who pushed his team ahead.

Furthermore, they said that Lindelof was ‘quiet and safe’ as Sweden cruised to victory.

United’s Lindelof was hailed by Swedish media outlet Fotboll Skanalen for his placement and ‘assured with the ball’ performance in the Swedish defense.

Among United’s starting central defenders, Lindelof entered the season as the team’s third choice, behind Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

However, the Frenchman is sidelined with an ιnjury and his return date is uncertain.

Before halftime, Lindelof started for the team against Arsenal and was putting in a solid performance despite being sick.

United collapsed after losing Lindelof and Martinez, so it’s evident that Ten Hag needs to rely on the Swedish international as a steady reserve.

While Lindelof isn’t a superstar, he’s proving why United should turn to him whenever a defender is out of commission since he was acquired from Benfica in 2017 for an initial £31 million.
