It was a challenging day for the Atlanta Braves as they faced setbacks on multiple fronts. Michael Soroka and Collin McHugh have both been placed on the 15-day Injured List (IL).
Soroka’s season comes to an unfortunate end due to right forearm inflammation, though the good news is that it won’t require surgery. For Soroka, who battled back from two torn Achilles injuries and struggled for consistency this season, the future with Atlanta is now uncertain.
On the other hand, McHugh is dealing with right shoulder inflammation. Hopefully, he can recover and return to form in time for the playoffs.
On the field, the Braves suffered another loss to the Cardinals. Spencer Strider had a tough and abbreviated outing, leading to the early use of Darius Vines, who might have been a starting option for an upcoming game. While Strider’s long-term prospects remain promising, his performance on Wednesday was less than ideal and impacted the team’s win-loss record.
