At Globe Life Field on Friday, the Rangers were defeated 6-3 by the Oakland Athletics, who were in last place.
Texas has dropped four straight contests, seven of the previous eight, and 16 of the previous 20 contests.
The Texas Rangers (76-64) were looking to avenge this week’s series loss to the Houston Astros. The Athletics (44-97) are finishing up a dismal campaign.

The organization’s top prospect in the outfield, Evan Carter, made his MLB debut in the contest as well. Carter joined the team to take Adolis Garca’s spot in right field, who was injured and placed on the injured list on Friday.
Additionally, due to a hamstring injury, the Rangers placed utility player Brad Miller on the 60-day injured list, ending his season.
The Athletics reliever Devin Sweet (1-0) won the game, while the Rangers’ Jordan Montgomery (9-11) took the loss. It was Trevor May’s 19th save.
At Globe Life Field, the Rangers and Athletics will begin their series at 6:05 on Saturday.
