For a very long time, Real Madrid has been trying in vain to sign Kylian Mbappe. Even in the summer, it seemed possible that the Frenchman would sign with Los Blancos. Even though there were rumors that he might sign a contract extension with the Ligue 1 giants as the transfer window closed, he continued to play for PSG.

Naturally, there hasn’t been a contract extension signed yet. Mbappe is anticipated to become a free agent next summer unless that changes.

According to Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Real Madrid has Erling Haaland identified as a backup option in case they are unsuccessful in acquiring Mbappe in the summer of 2024.

Haaland would undoubtedly be a magnificent acquisition for Real Madrid, particularly at this time. They need a top-tier striker in their lineup and are in need of a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema, who left at the end of the previous campaign.

There is now no one better than Haaland in terms of goal scorers. In his first season with the club, the Norwegian forward helped Manchester City win the triple with 52 goals. He would, in the opinion of many Real Madrid supporters, be a greater acquisition than Mbappe. What the future holds for Los Blancos and their transfer ambitions is currently unknown.
