Reece James hints at returning from injury

Chelsea defender Reece James has given fans hope that his return from injury is on the horizon with an encouraging Instagram update.

James had been sidelined due to injury for an extended period, sparking concerns that he might be plagued by fitness issues throughout the season. Earlier reports had indicated that he had suffered another muscle injury at the start of the campaign.

There had been optimism that James would overcome these setbacks, especially after he was entrusted with the role of club captain for the season, although this responsibility was later transferred to vice-captain Ben Chilwell. Both players have enjoyed popularity under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Since his standout performance on the opening day against Liverpool, James has been absent from the team, and his absence has been noticeable both on and off the pitch. However, Malo Gusto has stepped up admirably to help fill the void created by James’s absence.

James shared an Instagram story conveying the message: “Back to it soon.”

Gusto, the Frenchman, has already contributed with a couple of assists, demonstrating his attacking prowess in the process. Nevertheless, his starting role may be in jeopardy as James’s return appears imminent.

Fans will be hoping for James’s triumphant return, but they’ll also hope that he doesn’t rush back too early, allowing for a sustained period in the first team.
