Jadon Sancho could shock his move to Saudi Arabia after a spat with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.
The England international’s future at Manchester United is uncertain after he publicly responded to manager Erik ten Hag’s criticism of his performance in training. According to CBS Sports, Al-Ettifaq is currently planning a late move for the striker before the Saudi Pro League transfer market closes later today 7/9. Steven Gerrard’s side have opened negotiations over a loan deal for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.
Sancho seems to receive Ten Hag’s favor after 3 months of absence from the first team last season to take care of his mental health. However, his recent performance on the training ground has failed to convince the coach – who left him out of the squad for Man United’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal in round 4 of the Premier League last week. Sancho now appears to have been offered a fresh start in Saudi Arabia, but it remains to be seen whether he is interested in a switch.
If he lands at Al-Ettifaq, the striker born in 2000 will become a student of coach Steven Gerrard – former captain of Liverpool and MU’s No. 1 rival club. Personally, Gerrard is also one of the names that made Man United fans hate him when he was still playing at the top. Al-Ettifaq will have to act quickly if it wants to sign the England winger as the Saudi transfer market closes in just a few hours.
