The Kopa Trophy is given to the finest football player under the age of 21 in the world. It bears Raymond Kopa’s name, a renowned French footballer for Real Madrid who won the Ballon d’Or in 1958. The Ballon d’Or ceremony is organized by France Football magazine, which also presents the award. A group of previous Ballon d’Or winners choose the winner.
Two Real Madrid players are up for the Kopa Trophy this year.
Jude Bellingham: After making the spectacular switch from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid in the summer, the English midfielder is the favorite to take home the prize. He has been an important player for both club and country and has five goals in his first four La Liga appearances. A starter for England in the World Cup in Qatar, he was also chosen as the Bundesliga player of the year the previous year.
The French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, who recently joined Real Madrid, had a breakthrough season the previous year and has already established himself as one of the top midfielders in the world. He assisted Real Madrid in winning three titles last year, including the UEFA Super Cup, the Copa del Rey, and the Club World Cup. He frequently plays left back for the French national team, and he was excellent in the World Cup Final.
