Man Utd hit by fresh injury concern as Amrabat suffers back issue

Manchester United has been dealt another injury blow with the discovery of a back issue during Sofyan Amrabat’s medical examination just before his deadline day transfer. The Red Devils are currently grappling with several injury problems, with Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Mason Mount, Kobiee Mainoo, and Amad Diallo all sidelined with various issues.

New signing Rasmus Hojlund also joined the club with a back injury, requiring several weeks to recover before making his debut against Arsenal. According to The Athletic, Manchester United now finds themselves in a similar situation with Amrabat as they did with Hojlund, as they detected a back injury in the Moroccan during his medical on deadline day. Despite the injury, the Red Devils decided to proceed with the transfer as it didn’t appear to be serious.

Amrabat has a history of back problems, having played in last year’s Qatar World Cup with the injury and even taking painkillers to participate in the round of 16 match against Spain. Now, this injury may resurface, potentially delaying his Manchester United debut. After a protracted saga, Manchester United secured Amrabat’s signature in a loan deal with an option to make it permanent next summer. While United fans are excited about his arrival, his injury has become a real concern.

Fortunately, club football is currently on hold due to international fixtures, allowing him time to recover before Manchester United’s crucial match against Brighton and Hove Albion after the break. However, Amrabat has been called up for Morocco’s upcoming fixtures in the AFCON qualifying rounds, raising questions about his participation.

It’s unusual that a back issue was detected in Amrabat, as reports suggest he didn’t train with Fiorentina’s first team during the preseason and didn’t play any games after returning from the summer break. If this injury turns out to be longstanding, it could be a significant concern. Nevertheless, Manchester United fans are hopeful that Amrabat will recover in time for his debut on September 16th, the team’s first game after the international break.
