Mason Greenwood pictured in Getafe kit for the first time and gets new squad number

On transfer deadline day, the former Manchester United forward joined the La Liga club for the remainder of the season on loan.

Lazio, a Serie A club, tried to sign Greenwood but couldn’t come to terms with United.

Claudio Lotito, president of Lazio, said that executives from Premier League giants slowed down the processing of the necessary documentation.

They lost 2-1 to Real Madrid on Saturday before the forward even arrived in Spain for the 2023/24 season.

Greenwood is initially seen wearing a Getafe shirt in an X photograph posted by the club.

They also said that he would be switching jersey numbers, from 11 at United to 12.

It’s been reported that Erik ten Hag’s club will be responsible for a sizeable portion of his salary when he plays in Spain.

The Crown Prosecution Service withdrew all accusations against him in February after he vigorously disputed them.

United subsequently conducted their own probe and said in August that he had been permanently cut from the Old Trafford roster.

After his loan at Getafe ends, Greenwood’s United contract will have one year left.

After four games, the team is presently 14th in La Liga with just one victory to their nаme.

Jadon Sancho: Is it time for Manchester United to cut their losses?

Manchester United had been eager to get him to Old Trafford for quite some time. However, even the wildest fantasies might backfire in the end. That’s the situation with Jadon Sancho, Man U, and Sancho’s legion of fans.

Before Eden Hazard, there were other examples of footballing hopes turning into nightmares. As a result of his ongoing struggles, the Belgian attacker is thinking about calling it quits. Turning our attention back to Sancho, the English international has also struggled to make an impression.

The 23-year-old was acquired by Manchester United in a €85 million transfer fee. Sancho’s performance at Borussia Dortmund justified a hefty transfer cost, despite many doubts about the move now. After all, he scored 50 times and added 64 more on for the Black and Yellows in 137 games.

After playing for Manchester United for two years, the problematic playmaker has only produced 18 goals in 82 appearances. One may be surprised to see him throwing a tantrum over a fairly innocuous statement, given his lackluster productivity over the past two and a half seasons.Sancho, however, has called himself a “scapegoat” after Erik ten Hag said that his poor performance in training was the reason for his exclusion from the matchday squad against Arsenal. In response to a question about Sancho’s absence, Manchester United’s boss made the remark.

However, Sancho’s response demonstrates the fragile ego and attitude problems that have plagued the 23-year-old from his days in Manchester City’s development level. Remember, he’s the same player who irritated Pep Guardiola when he was a teenager.

Even Gareth Southgate was shocked by his chronic lateness to training sessions. The England manager has also put the player on the bench due to his poor performance in practice.

Sancho is still young and, in theory, has his finest years ahead of him, but he won’t be able to reach his full potential if he continues to irritate his boss. Furthermore, if you touch a disciplinarian like Erik ten Hag, who is infamous for sparing no prisoners, things can escalate from bad to worse. When Marcus Rashford arrived late to a squad meeting last season, the Dutch coach did not hesitate to send him to the bench despite his impressive play. In the same way that Alejandro Garnacho had to earn ten Hag’s respect, he achieved so by focused effort.

Meanwhile, Aaron Wan-Bissaka said nothing when ten Hag didn’t pick him as a starter at right back until the second half of the 2022/23 season. These are some players who, during their time with Manchester United, may have been more effective than Sancho.

The Englishman’s outburst was thus nothing but a childish tantrum and reeked of the misguided arrogance of a player who was completely oblivious to his own shortcomings. And this is after the manager stood by him through the good and bad of last season.

It’s important to keep in mind that ten Hag gave Sancho a few weeks break in the heart of the busiest season in contemporary sport to get in the right attitude while building up his fitness. When Sancho was healthy enough to return to action, the Dutchman was there to cheer him on from the sidelines like a pleased parent at his son’s first football game.

To get the most out of him, Manchester United’s manager has moved him across the field. Even so, the 23-year-old has the nerve to label himself a scapegoat. A player that costs Manchester United a fortune and whose positive performances supporters can count on two hands, at best. This player earns more over €300,000 per week.
