Brazil’s national team has made the decision to exclude Manchester United’s forward, Antony, from their squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Peru. This move comes in response to Antony’s personal problems, as reported by the Brazilian media.
Antony is trying to make it better and hopes to return to the national team. Taking to social media, the 23-year-old forward expressed his commitment to addressing the situation seriously and responsibly. He refrained from providing additional details but maintained he did nothing wrong.
Antony stated on Instagram, “Since the beginning, I have treated this matter with seriousness and respect. I can confidently state that the accusations are false and that the evidence already produced and the others that will be produced demonstrate that I did nothing wrong. I trust that the truth will demonstrate for me.”
Manchester United has not yet issued a comment on the matter.
To fill the void left by Antony’s absence, Brazil’s coach, Fernando Diniz, has called up Arsenal’s forward, Gabriel Jesus, to join the squad. The Brazilian national team is set to face Bolivia on Friday and Peru four days later as they embark on their qualifying journey for the 2026 World Cup.
