Jamal Baptiste, a former defender for West Ham, has officially joined Manchester City, according to sources.
During the champions’ 5-1 victory over Fulham, information about the English youngster’s transfer broke at halftime.
But a transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano also disclosed that he had been promptly leased out to City Group-owned Belgian team Lommel.
Baptiste, 19, announced in May that he will be leaving West Ham to pursue a career in professional football.
He has only appeared in two games for the Hammers, despite having six caps for the England U19 team.
After spending 12 years in East London, he is now starting a new chapter.
One person responded to the deal by saying, “I think he will flourish with City. This is a great offer.
Another person said, “Wow, that’s exciting news!”
Nice future for Jamal, a third person responded. Sincere congratulations.
And the final one said, “Massive deal.”
Lommel, who received promotion five years ago, now competes in the second tier of Belgian football.
And they have had the ideal start to the current season, winning their first three games.
With a game still to play, they lead Zulte Waregem by two points in the Belgian First Division B.
Man City, meanwhile, has started the season with a perfect record after winning their fourth straight Premier League game on Saturday.
Erling Haaland’s hat-trick in the second half gave Pep Guardiola’s team the victory and all three points before the interval.
