The Braves brought back Ben Heller and sent Darius Vines down to Gwinnett.

The Atlanta Braves made a roster move on Saturday morning in preparation for their evening game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. They called up reliever Ben Heller and sent Darius Vines back to Gwinnett.

Heller joined the Braves from the Tampa Bay Rays on June 6 after he had been designated for assignment. He appeared in 16 bullpen games, recording a 4.40 ERA and a 5.42 FIP in 14 1/3 innings before being optioned to Gwinnett.

Vines made his major league debut in Colorado on Wednesday and performed admirably, allowing four hits and two runs over six innings. He struck out five and issued just one walk. His strong showing suggests he may continue to be part of the team’s plans over the final month of the season.

The Braves will wrap up their road trip on Sunday in Los Angeles. They have an off day scheduled for Monday before embarking on a stretch of 10 games in nine days, facing the Cardinals, Pirates, and Phillies.
