If Ronaldo proves to be well enough to play against Al Ta’ee on Thursday, he may very well make his Al Nassr debut this week.

In terms of match sharpness, the former Red Devils striker might find it too challenging to recuperate from Thursday’s Saudi Pro League match, but manager Rudi Garcia will be anxious for the player to accrue some crucial playing time before his team’s top-of-the-table showdown against Al Shabab next Saturday.

After Lionel Messi’s heroics at the World Cup last month, head coach Garcia bizarrely gambled on upsetting Cristiano Ronaldo on New Year’s Eve when he told the media that he wanted to sign Messi first.

Due to his conflict with Ten Hag and previous Portuguese manager Fernando Santos during the World Cup, Ronaldo has a history of having strained relationships with his superiors.

The forward, who in a disturbing interview with Morgan claimed he felt “betrayed” by Manchester United, admitted he had little respect for Ten Hag after the Dutchman’s arrival at Old Trafford this summer.

He said, “I don’t respect him because he doesn’t respect me.” If you don’t respect me, I won’t ever have respect for you.
