Erik ten Hag needs a new left defender and Man United’s offer for Alfonso Pedraza was rejected by Villarreal.

Alfonso Pedraza, a left back for Villarreal, has been offered to Manchester United but Villarreal has turned them down.

Manchester United is looking to add a left fullback to their roster as Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are both sidelined with ιnjury. United had also expressed interest in signing Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella, but had their loan deal to sign Pedraza rejected by Villarreal, as reported by Marca.

The Yellow Submarine will not let the 27-year-old fullback depart this summer since he is an essential member of the team. In the recent seven-goal matchup between Villarreal and Barcelona, won 4-3 by the Catalan club, Pedraza provided two assists.

Since the Red Devils’ offer for Pedraza was turned down, they are likely to make a last offer for Cucurella before the transfer deadline on Friday.

Manchester United fail with loan approach for Sofyan Amrabat

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Sofyan Amrabat, as reported by 90min. The 27-year-old central midfielder’s stellar play over the past 18 months has made him a hоt commodity in the current transfer market.

Before the end of the transfer window, the Red Devils would like to add another midfielder to the roster. To create a lethal double pivot in the middle of the field, Erik ten Hag has to add another defensive midfielder immediately.

Ten Hag has a few players he wants to sign, but Amrabat from Fiorentina is at the top of his list. The 27-year-old midfielder absolutely explоded at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He was one of the greatest players in the competition, and his efforts helped Morocco make history as the first African team to advance to the tournament’s semifinals.

Amrabat regularly contributed to Fiorentina’s success at the club level. In the 2022–23 season, he was instrumental in getting them to two finals. Despite his importance to the Italian club, he may be traded before the window closes.The contract of the Moroccan international will expire in the summer of 2024. However, the midfielder is not interested in staying with Fiorentina and wants to transfer to a better team.

The Red Devils have been trying to sign the 27-year-old for the entire transfer window with no luck. The player’s personal terms have been discussed and agreed to in principle by the Red Devils. However, they have not submitted a formal offer to secure his expertise.

Singing Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund has already cost them a fortune. Therefore, they are unable to permanently sign Amrabat due to FFP restrictions. Selling Fred and Dean Henderson helped, but only a little. They still have some players to trade or release.

The Red Devils approached Fiorentina about a loan deal with a buy option because a permanent move seemed doubtful. The Italian club, though, has already decided to cash in on the 27-year-old, thus they have rejected the offer.
