As Chelsea “agrees a £45 million deal for England U21 Euros winner,” Todd Boehly surpasses the $1 billion transfer threshold

According to rumors, CHELSEA and Manchester City striker Cole Palmer have reached a £45 million agreement, pushing the club’s spending under Todd Boehly above the $1 billion level.

The Blues have spent more than £300 million for the third consecutive transfer window.

Since Boehly took control last year, they have now earned more than £1 billion, including add-ons, thanks to the Palmer agreement.

The 21-year-old won the age group Euros with England in the summer and is expected to be the newest member of Mauricio Pochettino’s team.

The Times claims that Chelsea and City have reached an agreement for the Wythenshawe-born player.

They continue by saying the signing by the Blues is “close” to happening.

Prior to scoring in their Super Cup victory over Sevilla, Palmer scored the first goal in Man City’s Community Shield loss to Arsenal earlier this month.

But in their first three Premier League games, he only saw 10 minutes of action, and that cameo came off the bench in a 3-0 victory over Burnley.

In 41 games for Man City, Palmer has six goals and two helpers.

He made 25 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s Treble-winning team the previous year.

However, just seven of those occurred while he was a starter because he was compelled to contribute in only a little way to City’s victories.

Palmer was not accepted in Brighton’s £30 million offer.

When asked about the youthful attacker earlier in the window, Guardiola replied, “I don’t know [whether he will stay]. I thought he wanted to go when we got there, but I’m not sure now.

“I don’t believe a loan will be granted. He will either remain or will be sold.

Following the injuries to Carney Chukwuemeka and Christopher Nkunku, this acquisition will further strengthen Pochettino’s attacking options.

This summer, Boehly already spent a lot of money on a number of acquisitions, including Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Axel Disasi, Nicolas Jackson, Robert Sanchez, and Lesley Ugochukwu.

Emile Smith Rowe of Arsenal has also been linked to a transfer to Chelsea.
