Dean Henderson’s move to Crystal Palace to be announced today
According to Fabrizio Romano, the expert on player transfers, Dean Henderson’s deal to Crystal Palace has been finalized.
The Italian tweeted (then called Twitter) that the goalkeeper’s transfer from Old Trafford is finalized.Manchester United and Crystal Palace settled on a deal last week with a potential value of £20 million.
Palace will pay £15 million up front, with a possible further £5 million in add-ons.
Similar to the arrangements United has made for its departing academy graduates this summer, it is said to contain a sell-on percentage.
Personal terms were also finalized, and a medical exam was all that was needed to seal the deal. Despite initial worries about Henderson’s health, this is now finished.
In January of this year, Henderson was seriously hurt. The goalkeeper suffered a torn thigh muscle in April of 2022 while on loan at Nottingham Forest and was sidelined until May of that year due to surgery.
After witnessing Henderson’s demeanor and leadership at the City Ground, reports surfaced that Forest had made him their top priority for the number one position. However, the United and Nottinghamshire club officials were unable to reach an agreement, and negotiations broke down.

United, meanwhile, is likely to acquire Altay Bayindir, the goalkeeper for Fenerbache, in a transaction estimated to be worth between €5 and €7 million.
Henderson was finally able to leave Old Trafford after this reinforcement was made, and Crystal Palace are very appreciative.
United will receive a huge financial boost from the transfer fee as they prepare for a busy final few days of the summer transfer season.
