The signing of Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal could advance Lionel Messi’s plan to transform Miami into “Barcelona West.”
The 36-year-old Vidal expressed interest in traveling to the United States in a conversation with TNT Sports Argentina.
Vidal declared, “I would go and play with Messi.” “With him, it’s very simple; all you have to do is pass the ball to him.” It hasn’t happened previously because of a number of laws that forbid older players from attending in the United States.
“I would be thrilled to play with Leo and Busquets; they play by heart, and now that Inter Miami plays that way too, with a good coach [Tata Martino], they play like that too,” said the player.
This information is intriguing for Vidal, particularly because he recently moved from his previous club, Flamengo, to Athletico Paranaense in Brazil.

Before then, Vidal (8) and Messi (10) were rivals at the club level and the international level
Vidal played for Barcelona for two seasons, winning the 2018–19 La Liga championship while contributing eleven goals in 96 games for the Blaugrana.
Prior to that, Messi’s rival in Europe was Vidal, who played in 124 games for Bayern Munich and 171 games for Juventus.
Vidal started for Juventus in the 2015 UEFA Champions League final, which Barcelona won 3-1.
He and Messi have a long history together on the international stage. In the 2015 and 2016 Copa America Finals, both at home in Chile and then again in the United States, Vidal’s Chilean teams defeated Argentina.
Despite the fact that Messi, 36, is getting on in years, Vidal claimed he still expects the greatest player ever to play for his nation.
I envision Messi playing for the Argentine team for a very long time, Vidal remarked. He is content and pleased to be sporting the Argentine shirt.
