MU gave Nottingham Forest a 2-0 lead after only four minutes of play at Old Trafford in the third round of the 2023–24 Premier League, but the Red Devils finally came back to win 3-2. 

Unfortunately, their triumph was not fully successful because center defenseman Raphael Varane was wounded.

Victor Lindelof replaced the Frenchman on the field shortly after halftime. Coach Erik ten Hag revealed that the former Real Madrid star had a problem and did not want to take a chance. He said, “I heard Varane seek to be replaced. I don’t want to put him in danger by doing this. 

I still favor employing trustworthy stand-ins like Maguire or Lindelof.

Varane is currently hurt.

According to Football Daily, Raphael Varane will be out of commission for six weeks. The French player’s problem turned out to be more serious than expected, requiring a few weeks of recovery. 

In the given situation, Ten Hag might consider giving Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelof a chance.

Despite Varane’s setback, West Ham is still showing interest in Harry Maguire, so perhaps the Red Man will continue to challenge the English midfielder. Due to the fact that MU competes on several fronts, a force with sufficient depth is required.

MU will be a guest on Arsenal’s field this weekend.

Martinez will probably be positioned close to Lindelof in the center of defense by head coach Erik ten Hag.

Maguire will still be listed on the roster, but he probably won’t play.
