The Atlanta Braves have been the best team in all of baseball this season.
The team currently has a 13.5 game lead over the defending National League champion Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East.
The NL East is essentially a done deal at this point, and it won’t be long before Atlanta secures its sixth straight division title.
However, the Braves are closing in on yet another banner.
The month of September hasn’t even arrived yet, but the Braves now have a magic number of 12 to secure a spot in this year’s postseason, according to MLB writer Bob Nightengale on Twitter.
For several months, the Braves have appeared to be a lock for October.
The team hasn’t missed the postseason since 2017 and has turned into a powerhouse.
After losing the NLDS in back-to-back years, the Braves made a run to the NLCS in 2020 and reached their first World Series since 1998 the following year.
Atlanta secured its first World Series title since 1995 in 2021.
After an NLDS loss last year, the Braves look prepared to bounce back from their early playoff exit.
The roster is full of stars such as Ronald Acuna Jr, Spencer Strider, Max Fried, Bryce Elder, Sean Murphy, Ozzie Albies, Michael Harris, Austin Riley, and Travis d’Arnaud.
And it won’t be long before this team secures yet another trip to the postseason.
With a record of 84-44, the Braves have already clinched their sixth straight winning season.
They’ve won four consecutive games and already have put the rest of the NL East in the rearview mirror.
