The ‘most world’s beautiful athlete’ has challenged Erling Haaland of Manchester City to a race after humiliating a World Cup champion.

Alica Schmidt, a model and two-time junior European 4x400m relay medalist, has 4.3 million Instagram followers and is a member of the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.

Haaland’s tremendous pace, power, and acceleration—which saw him clocked at over 22.5mph last season—helped City win the treble as he scored an astounding 52 goals in 53 games across all competitions.

Schmidt, 24, who represented Germany at the World Championships currently taking place in Budapest, believes she can defeat the powerful striker in her favored 400-meter event, while she acknowledges that she would find it “more difficult” over 200 meters.

She recently ran the 400 meters in 52.18 seconds, a personal best (averaging about 17 mph). She is competing against Haaland.

‘Hmm, I don’t know – maybe,’ the 24-year-old woman responded when asked by Norwegian publication Dagbladet if she could defeat him in a race. On the 400m, I believe yes. It would be more challenging on 200m. However, I would be pleased if the race happened.

When asked when the race might take place, she responded, “I don’t know, I have to ask him,” to the question. Though I’m always prepared.
