One can guess this most expensive house will be in Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Louis, or even Detroit. Instead, the most expensive house in the Midwest is located in the town of “Santa Claus”, Indiana, USA.
Big Tree Farm
Located near the southern border of the state, between Evansville and Louisville, the small spot is known for its year-round Christmas through attractions. It is also the location of Big Tree Farm, a nearly 225-acre property currently on the market for $40.9 million.
This is an extremely expensive price to pay for a single home in a small town, as the price includes not only a house but also five annexes with guest areas, an entertainment facility, a 1950s-style diner and a classic car museum.
Main house
The house was originally designed as a private estate, but has since been transformed into a destination for visitors from all over the world. The three-story main house is inspired by Grand Canyon and Yosemite National Park lodges, featuring wood ceilings, a three-story fireplace, and large windows.
Inside the home includes six bedrooms and five bathrooms, a kitchen, an outdoor living room, a playroom and a garage with room for three cars.
The Stables (guest area) includes three residence apartments, each bearing the names of Kentucky Derby winners, and a variety of resorts, including a pool area and tennis courts.

In addition, the entertainment facility is also nearly 855 square meters, can seat 600 guests and has a stage that has previously welcomed performers such as Kris Kristofferson and Alabama. The 1950s-style diner with an area of nearly 225 square meters can accommodate 150 guests. The nearly 2580 square meter Classic Car Museum has displayed up to 250 cars.
