Damian Lillard considers Timberwolves trade option amid Heat uncertainty

In order to join the Miami Heat, Damian Lillard has requested a trade. However, progress in negotiations is slow. Lillard is still a member of the Trail Blazers organization. In the midst of the uncertainty surrounding the Heat-Blazers talks, Bill Simmons has suggested Damian Lillard give serious consideration to the Minnesota Timberwolves. According to The Bill Simmons Podcast hosted by FanDuel on Dru, Simmons recently detailed his thinking behind this in an episode of his podcast.

Is Dаme Lillard keeping an eye on the [Timberwolves]? What do you know? You can simply replace me with [Karl-Anthony] Towns. [Rudy] Gobert is on our team. Anthony Edwards is on the team. It’s pleasant in a way. Ant and I together… That could be the best possible situation for me.

Simmons then added NSFW-style Minnesota to the list of potential destinations for a transaction involving Damian Lillard.

The possibility of a deal involving Lillard persists. The majority of travelers’ top choice remаins Miami. Since Lillard made his desire to be traded to the Heat public, he has not received much interest from other teams.

However, if a trade doesn’t materialize, Dаme may go elsewhere for a new team. It’s unlikely the Timberwolves could make a deal that’s enticing enough. A deal including both Damian Lillard and Karl-Anthony Towns is quite unlikely.

Even so, the Gophers may be a team to watch. However, the Heat are still the favorites to sign Lillard. However, doing so may necessitate the addition of a third group.
