Bruno Fernandes has expressed his aspiration to eventually play in Brazil after concluding his Manchester United journey, although he isn’t contemplating a departure from Old Trafford in the near future. The prospect of featuring in Brazil has been discussed by Bruno Fernandes as a potential step in his career once his time at Manchester United comes to a close.
Man Utds’ captain love to play in South Ameria after leaving Old Trafford
This summer, Fernandes assumed the role of club captain at Old Trafford, a responsibility bestowed upon him by United manager Erik ten Hag. He takes over from Harry Maguire, who led the team for three and a half years. Since his move from Sporting in January 2020, the Portuguese playmaker has been a standout performer for the Red Devils. Despite his established presence, Fernandes has recently delved into his future intentions, sparking intrigue by not categorically dismissing the idea of eventually venturing to play in South America. Particularly, he addressed the notion of competing in Brazil, a nation that shares his native Portuguese language.
Brazil is an ideal place for Bruno?
Fernandes told ESPN Brasil: “Whenever I can, I follow it, because I find Brazilian football attractive, electric football, with a lot of quality, joy, very one-on-one.“It’s pure football. And I think that now, with the coaches that are there, not only the Portuguese but also Brazilians, are increasingly developing in the tactical part.“I don’t rike talking about the distant future, but it’s like I said. It’s attractive football, very interesting. The only thing is that the trips are very long there in Brazil (laughs).“There are many competitions, many clubs that play Libertadores and Sudamericana, very good competitions. I’m not saying no, because Brazilian football is very attractive, and we never know the future.”
He’ll stay with Man Utd for a long term
At 28 years old, he has solidified his role as a leader on the field and is a constant presence in Manchester United’s starting lineup. Rarely hindered by injuries or suspensions, he consistently displays his skills, becoming a focal point for the team’s attacking strategies.
Fernandes boasts an impressive record of 64 goals and 54 direct assists in 187 appearances for United. His form suggests that he has several more seasons ahead at the pinnacle of his game. With a desire to reestablish the club’s dominance both domestically and in European competitions, Fernandes remains motivated to achieve these goals.
He still play a key role at Old Trafford
Given his influential position at the club and his stature within the dressing room, it’s highly unlikely that Fernandes will be departing Old Trafford in the near future. However, considering his impact and potential, it wouldn’t be entirely surprising if the Portuguese star eventually decides to showcase his talents in the Brazilian top flight within the next decade.
