Roy Keane angry at Man United’s big ‘baby’ after Spurs defeat

Following Manchester United’s 2-0 loss to Tottenham, Roy Keane ripped into the Red Devils before calling attacker Marcus Rashford “a child.”

After flattering to deceive in their 1-0 win over Wolves on Monday, Erik ten Hag’s side were punished after producing another poor display in the capital.

After the break, Pape Matar Sarr gave Spurs the lead with a small push, and Lisandro Martinez’s late own goal gave the hosts the victory.

Additionally, Keane was unimpressed with how his former team performed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium while he was analyzing the game in the Sky Sports studio.

Speaking after the match, the Irishman said: “I think Man United are the new Spurs. Desperate. Absolutely desperate. Biggest insult I always think about teams are teams who can’t do it away from home or players who aren’t up for it away from home.

“They’re a good team and they fancy it when the home fans are in front of them. They’ve got that support and that energy. United leave today, and their second half was feeble, lacking in direction, and they conceded poor goals. Spurs were wonderful, and they deserve all the credit.

“But United, it’s easy to play against them. I said before the game they were poor against Wolves but they got the result and they’d be better today. They weren’t.

“We pointed out that although they were great for the first half-hour, the game lasts for 90 minutes.. You’re obviously not going to dominate that long but you’ve got to show some belief, some desire, some fight.”

Then Keane targeted Anthony Martial, who was pulled off the bench by Ten Hag late in the game, and Rashford, who struggled against Spurs.

He added: “You’re bringing on Anthony Martial and these players – you might as well bring on Frank Stapleton and Norman Whiteside.

“Martial’s not going to get you out of trouble again. Rashford once more played down the center, as usual.. He’s like a child up there. He’s obviously not happy playing through the middle and his body language, his first few touches in the game, suggested ‘I don’t want to play up through the middle.’
