Hawks’ Trae Young finds comfort alongside Kevin Durant after being left off Team USA roster
Trae Young, point guard for the Atlanta Hawks, has made no sеcrеt of his desire to play for Team USA, but for some reason, he has never been selected.
The most recent instance of this was earlier this year, when Young was left off of Team USA’s squad for the FIBA competition that starts later this month.
Thankfully, Young appears to have found ways to fill his unexpecteԀ downtime, most recently by going on open runs with future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant and a bevy of current NBA players in Los Angeles.
Young’s former Hawks teammate and current Sacramento Kings sharpshooter Kevin Huerter is also visible in the images, as are coaches Chet Holmgren and Austin Rivers and players Jalen Green and Austin Rivers.
The upcoming NBA season, Young’s sixth, will represent a watershed moment in his career. Two years ago, Young led the Hawks to their deepest playoff run in franchise history. However, the Hawks have been eliminated from postseason competition in the first round the past two years, and the term “overrated” has been often associated with Young’s nаme.
Young and the Hawks are entering what seems like a pivotal 2023–24 season after trading for San Antonio Spurs All-Star Dejounte Murray previous offseason but failing to make significant playoff advancement.
When the NBA In-Season tournament was announced on Tuesday, the team found out at least part of their 2023-24 schedule. Whatever the case may be, Young seems to be surrounding himself with top-tier talent this summer in order to have a career year in the next one.
