Isaiah Thomas settles ‘Seattle’s best’ debate that will catch Paolo Banchero’s attention
Seattle may still long for an NBA franchise, but it hasn’t prevented the city from turning out talented NBA players. Ex-NBA pro Jamal Crawford and Orlando Magic up-and-comer Paolo Banchero are two examples of exceptional players. Even though free agency guard Isaiah Thomas acknowledges that Banchero has a chance to overtake Crawford as Seattle’s greatest player, he still thinks Crawford is the better all-around player.
Isaiah Thomas just made a visit at Gil’s Arena and discussed this topic.Right now, Jamal Crawford’s overall body of work is superior to Paolo Banchero’s. Banchero is about to start his second season in the NBA, whereas the now-retired Crawford played 20 years in the league. The Seattle native never made the All-Star team, but the ball-handling wҺiz from Rainier Beach High School did win three NBA Sixth Man of the Year awards. His remarkable scoring ability and the length of his NBA career are two other highlights. After 1,327 games, his career averages were 14.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists, so he called it quits while he was ahead.
However, Banchero’s NBA career was off to a great start, as he was named the league’s rookie of the year for the 2022–23 season. He has the raw talent to be a perennial All-Star in the years to come. Twenty points per game, six and a half boards, and three and a half assists per game were his rookie season averages. In addition to Jason Terry and Brandon Roy, Seattle has produced NBA stars such as Doug Christie, Dejounte Murray, Kevin Porter Jr., and Brandon Roy.
