Mike Trout claims to be making progress but does not have a scheduled comeback date.

Texas’s ARLINGTON (AP) — Mike Trout, a standout outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels, stated on Monday that he is healing from a fractured left hamate bone that has kept him out of the lineup since July 3.

Trout stated, “I know that it’s just a pain tolerance thing,” prior to the Angels’ contest with the Texas Rangers. “I’ll be out there as soon as it’s bearable,” the person said.

Prior to the team’s three-game series in Houston last Friday, the 11-time All-Star and three-time AL MVP started hitting against a machine. He said that he had not yet engaged the machine at full speed.

Trout said that the injury predominantly impacts batting and has been practicing in the outfield.

“Defense right now, every day has been good,” he declared. “There are some motions I make in the outfield where my backhand acts up a little bit because I hit it strange. But nothing is preventing me from playing defense. Simply the swinging portion.

In 81 of the Angels’ 119 games, Trout has participated, hitting.263 with 18 home runs and 44 RBIs.

The Angels are 6 1/2 games out of the last AL wild card and behind first-place Texas by 11 1/2 games in the Western Division.
