Wander Franco faces investigation in the Dominican Republic

In Ban, Franco’s hometown, magistrate Olga Diná is leading the investigation on behalf of the National Directorate of Boys, Girls, Adolescents, and Family.

On Monday, the Dominican news outlet Noticias Telemicro was the first to report

After the Rays issued a statement saying Franco would be placed on the restricted list for the team’s road trip, the government launched its investigation.

Beginning on Monday night, the Tampa Bay Rays will play three games against the San Francisco Giants before heading to Anaheim to take on the Angels beginning on Friday. The Rays will return home on August 22 to face the Colorado Rockies and New York Yankees in a six-game homestand.

Major League Baseball is also investigating, as the Rays have confirmed.

In a statement, Tampa Bay said, “We support any steps taken by the league to better understand the situation.” Our current policy is to remain silent out of consideration for all parties.

On Instagram Live, Franco denied the allegations. In the Dominican Republic, the age of consent is 18.

“They sаy I hooked up with a teenager, that I’m carrying around a young girl.” Just how insаne is that, bro? People are at a loss as to how to spend their time. He said in Spanish, “Go and see.”

“Those folks have to get going. Because of God, I am able to stay here and accomplish my work without distraction. People are very gossipy, so I just stay on the sidelines and avoid involving myself with anyone.

José Siri, a teammate of the Rays, entered the room during the video and exclaimed, “It’s just people after money!”

ESPN Deportes reporter Enrique Rojas stated on Monday’s episode of the Dominican radio show Grandes En Los Deportes that the livestream occurred before the start of the game.

Manager Kevin Cash of the Tampa Bay Rays explained to reporters before the game that he took Franco out of the lineup to “get him off his feet.”

After the defeat at the hands of the Guardians, Cash admitted that he had heard the tales.

“I am aware of this speculation,” Cash stated. I won’t be making any further remarks on that. The holiday, however, was the reason for the holiday.

First-time All-Star selection Franco was batting.281 with 17 home runs and 58 RBI heading into Sunday.
